PressEnter Group has named product expert Hampus Eriksson as its new deputy CEO.
The internal promotion will see Eriksson continue in his existing role as CPO, where he has spent two years rebuilding the operator’s product capabilities and processes.
Eriksson has overseen the launch of PressEnter’s first sports betting brand, XLBet, as well as regulated market launches in Romania and the Canadian province of Ontario.
Other milestones include the completion of a full cloud migration.
PressEnter Group witnessed a management buyout (MBO) in November 2022 which resulted in a change of strategy to secure the long-term success of the business.
In his new position, Eriksson will have a wider remit by taking on the responsibility for the operations required to deliver on the strategies agreed upon as part of the MBO.
PressEnter Group CEO Lahcene Merzoug said: “Hampus has achieved great things since joining PressEnter Group and this promotion is a reward for his hard work. This will also help to free up my time so that I can focus more on strategy and long-term projects.”
“I have worked with Hampus for more than 10 years. He is a highly experienced executive and product specialist and knows exactly how to run a business that is as effective as it is efficient.
“Through his bold leadership and natural talent, I am confident that we will continue to progress at pace over the months ahead,” he added.
Eriksson and Merzoug previously worked together at ComeOn, while Eriksson also boasts experience at iGaming companies including NetEnt, William Hill International and GTECH.
“Following the management buyout, the company is in a much stronger position with the foundations in place to deploy smart, effective strategies for growth,” said Eriksson.
“We are combining this with an incredibly talented team, and a skilled, ambitious C-suite to ensure that we not only meet, but exceed our goals.
“I am thrilled to have been promoted to the role of deputy CEO and look forward to working alongside Lahcene to lead this organisation to the greatness I know it can achieve,” he added.
PressEnter Group further strengthened its senior management team in November 2023 with the hire of Philip Bell as chief commercial officer.
