Betpoint Group recruits Lahcene Merzoug as CEO

Former ComeOn Group boss lands new leadership role at Malta-based NitroCasino operator

Former ComeOn Group chief executive Lahcene Merzoug has been recruited to spearhead growth at Betpoint Group as the company’s new CEO. Merzoug spent two years as CEO of ComeOn after a six-month stint as CMO of Green Media, Mr Green’s internal media agency.

The industry veteran and angel investor has also held senior roles at Evoke Gaming, Bonnier Gaming and Red Bet. He replaces Karl Wijkmark as Betpoint CEO, who will now become chief people experience officer.

Merzoug will be based out of Betpoint’s Sliema office in Malta and will be responsible for overseeing the operator’s expansion plans for flagship brands 21.com, Justspin, NitroCasino, NeonVegas and UltraCasino into new markets.

He will also help to identify possible M&A targets, as well as developing the company’s culture so that it can attract the strongest talent from across the igaming industry.

Merzoug said: “I am delighted to be joining such an ambitious and driven organisation. “We have an incredible team of people that form the Betpoint Group and together we make for a powerful proposition. “We are at the very beginning of an extraordinary growth trajectory and we can’t wait to share our expansion plans with the industry,” he added.
